Class to Classics
Empowering Young Minds Through Storytelling
Class to Classics is a unique educational and cultural initiative by Abhinava Dance Company, envisioned to enrich young minds through the timeless wisdom, values, and narratives of Indian epics. The initiative seeks to bridge the gap between classroom learning and India’s rich cultural heritage by bringing stories from our great epics, such as the Ramayana and the Mahabharata, to life through engaging storytelling, classical dance, music, and theatrical presentations.

Madanothsava — Celebration of Spring
MADANOTHSAVA! Revival of the bygone community festival to welcome the spring. A 1600-year-old tradition brought into light and celebrated with the same rigour and vibrance.
Brought into action by Abhinava Dance Company on February 22nd, 2020 at Ramanjaneya Gudda, Bangalore — a brain-child of Shatavadhaani Dr R Ganesh.
The festival featured various artists for the whole day connecting with people: Indian Classical Vocals, Instrumental Compositions, Sand Art, various forms of Indian Classical dance, Folk Art, Sanskrit Discussion Forums and more.
Abhinava featured its new home productions: Madananjali and Pramadvane, inspired by the spring welcoming Madana. Apart from stunning costumes, props and extraordinary music composed by Sri Praveen D Rao, these featured new movements called "Charchari" — an innovation in itself.
Community Celebrations
Unique dance game around mango trees & fruit plucking — a joyous community ritual recreated at Madanothsava.
Ancient community-building clap dance recreated — 2000–3000 people learnt it at Madanothsava.
Humanity Through Art
Abhinava has contributed to society through various initiatives.
- During the 2018 floods, Abhinava reached affected families with aid through the production Dhaara.
- Kaladwaraka Festival (2020–2021) — supported 100+ artists with Infosys Foundation.
- Samvedana — right after COVID, hundreds of dancers chanted mantras for healing.
- Over 700 students performed Vande Mataram to invoke patriotism.
Abhinava's outreach brings thousands together — reviving ancient festivals, building community through dance, and using art as a force for healing and unity.
