ABHIMANYU is a choreographer's delight presented by the Abhinava Dance Company that features the indomitable spirit of a warrior prince and the intelligence of the military in ancient India. It portrays the coding and decoding of different battle formations. The production takes back connoisseurs to the times of the Great Indian Epic - Mahabharatha!

ABHIMANYU highlights the heroism displayed by the young Abhimanyu, a 16-year old lad, who is the son of Arjuna. He decodes Padmavyuha - a battle formation during the Kurukshetra war.

The choreography lends itself to exploration of the story through various dance movements and sound syllables taken from the Natyashastra, a 5000 - year treatise on Indian dramaturgy. The production also contains shades of Kathak, the North Indian Classical Dance form.
